The Platinum Jubilee is the first time any British monarch has reached this milestone. The Government said that the UK would celebrate the Queen’s 70th anniversary as monarch with “a blockbuster weekend of celebrations”.
Thanks to the Queen celebrating her Platinum Jubilee, 2022 will actually have an extra bank holiday. The Spring bank holiday is moved to Thursday 2 June and an additional bank holiday on Friday 3 June will herald in a four day weekend to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee.
The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pageant will take place on Sunday 5th June 2022, outside Buckingham Palace.

More than 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians will come together in the traditional Parade to mark The Queen’s official birthday, usually held on the second Saturday in June.

Platinum Party at the Palace

The Platinum Party at the Palace on Saturday, 4th June, will bring together the world’s biggest entertainers to perform in front of Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace.
With state-of-the-art technology and a stunning stage design, the event will feature an incredible range of highlights from global music stars with a full, live orchestra – to actors from film, TV and the stage telling the story and celebrating some of the most significant cultural moments from The Queen’s seven decade reign.

The Pageant will combine street arts, theatre, music, circus, carnival and costume to celebrate Her Majesty’s unwavering duty, love of the natural world and dedication to the Commonwealth.
