What's on at Goodwood
Festival of Speed
A celebration of motorsport in the beautiful parkland surrounding Goodwood House. An intoxicating celebration of the world's most glamorous sport. Watch the cars and bikes as they blast up the Hillclimb track; nowhere else will you enjoy such unrestricted access to the drivers and machines.
Qatar Goodwood Festival
World-class racing across the five-day 'Glorious' Goodwood Festival and its 14 action-packed races. A social occasion not to be missed.
The Goodwood Revival
Recreating the glamour of motor racing as it used to be. The only historic race meeting to be staged entirely in period dress, the Revival sees a return to the halcyon days of Goodwood as the spiritual home of British motor racing.
The hillclimb course located at Goodwood House was first used in 1936. The racing circuit began life as the perimeter track of RAF Westhampnett airfield, which was constructed during World War II. The first race meeting took place on 18 September 1948, organised by the Junior Car Club and sanctioned by the Duke of Richmond and Gordon.
The circuit was where both Mike Hawthorn and Graham Hill had their first single seat races. It was also where Stirling Moss ended his international career after his accident at St. Mary’s during the Glover Trophy on Monday 23 April..

Goodwood House was built circa 1600 and was acquired by Charles Lennox, 1st Duke of Richmond in 1697.
Qatar Goodwood Festival 1-5 August 2023
Goodwood hosts the annual Glorious Goodwood meeting in late July and early August, which is one of the highlights of the British flat racing calendar. It is home to 3 of the UK’s 36 annual Group 1 flat races, the Sussex Stakes, the Goodwood Cup and the Nassau Stakes. Although the race meeting has become known as ‘Glorious Goodwood’, it is sponsored by Qatar and officially called the ‘Qatar Goodwood Festival’.
“It’s like walking back perfectly into a black-and-white photo, except it’s in colour and 3D. It’s amazing.”
