The 60th British Film Festival

2016 will be the 60th British Film Festival. It starts on 5th October 2016 and runs for 12 days before coming to a close on the 16th October. This year a record 193 fiction and 52 documentaries will be showcased In venues across London ranging from the world famous Odeon on Leicester Square to arthouse cinemas such as The Curzon in Chelsea. The Festival’s opening night gala features the European premier of A United Kingdom, based on the true story of an African King’s marriage to a British office worker, and stars David Oyelowo and Rosamund Pike, both of whom will be joining the film’s director Amma Asante on the red carpet.
