Taking place at Somerset House, London Fashion week is one of the fashion industry’s key events in the calendar. This is an event run by the British Fashion Council, with full backing from the Mayor of London.
Running next to the London Fashion Week is also the London Fashion Weekend. This is an event which is open to the general public, and not just media or those within the fashion trade.
The London Fashion week is a biannual event, happening in both February and September, showcasing different season’s fashions each time.
The event for Spring and Summer Fashion is happening between Friday the 12th to Tuesday the 16th of September, 2014. Here many fashion designers will be displaying their new collections for buyers and the media.
To find out what you can expect, you can always take a look back at the Autumn and Winter show which took place between the 14th to the 18th of February 2014. Here, designers and fashion experts included Mulberry, Topshop Unique and Burberry.
It is not just the catwalks that make London Fashion week the occasion to be at. Typically there are also a range of fascinating events. Although the particulars have not yet been announced for the Summer and Spring show, the Autumn and Winter Collections show had drink receptions with top designers, films themed around top fashion, award shows hosted by big names and late night parties with the stars of the Catwalk.
Although almost all of the main events happen within Somerset House, one complication which can arise are the many satellite events that occur during the event. These events tend to be run by other privatefunded groups, and take place in venues around central London. One of the easiest way to navigate these events is with a driver who understands London and the London Fashion Week schedule. Our drivers at iChauffeur will be able to recommend the best places to go depending on your particular tastes or needs.
