EFG London Jazz Festival

London’s biggest pan-city music festival, The EFG London Jazz Festival is back again from November 13-22. The festival is widely acknowledged for delivering world-class artists and emerging stars, showcasing a heady mix of talent from around the world. The Festival continues to take jazz to a massive audience, in one of UK’s landmark music events.

Created in 1992 by live international music producers, Serious, the festival emerged from the long-standing Camden Jazz Week. After producing this for some years, Serious engineered a transition that saw the evolution of the festival. With a strong push for education, Serious worked with a number of international and British artists to help the EFG London Jazz Festival find it’s feed and begin to grow. The goal of the festival is still the same today, to celebrate the place of jazz in London, a city at ease with its rich cultural diversity.

iChauffeur is your go-to for luxury transfers to the festival, we have a range of options available including our Range Rovers and mini-buses that seat up to 20.

Chelsea Flower Show

One of the most talked about events on the horticulture calendar, The Chelsea Flower show, is a stunning five day event full of wonder and stunning arrangements. Such is its popularity that tickets have to be purchased in advanced for entry (which of course, we can help you with).

Visitors to the show are limited to 157,000, the holding capacity of the grounds at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Tickets do typically sell out, so it is important to get your’s early. The first two days are reserved for members of the Royal Horticultural Society, while the other three days are open to the general public.

This year, The Chelsea Flower Show is taking place on the Tuesday the 20th to the Saturday the 24th of May.

This year is billed as the year that the younger generation takes over, with many gardens being created by newcomers who have never exhibited at the great event.

There are also many commemoration displays this year, with the Pavilion exhibit commemorating the outbreak of the First World War, and a garden created specifically for Help for Heroes by Matt Keightley.

Another big name at the garden show is Alan Titchmarsh, designing the RHS Britain in Bloom 50th anniversary garden. This garden is billed to help display and demonstrate how the volunteers of Britain in Bloom help improve the country for everyone by helping to clean up their local area and planting beautiful flower displays.

The other great event happening during the Chelsea Flower Show is an evening of light Opera. This is scheduled to start at 5:30, and includes a glass of champagne to start the toast of what is sure to be another great year and great event for the Royal Horticultural Society.

Although it is possible to get to The Chelsea Flower Show by the Circle and District lines, it is very likely that the underground to the nearest tube station, Solane Square, will be packed. For this reason, we do heavily recommend making alternative travel arrangements. If you would like help with chauffeur driven transport, do get in touch with us; we will be happy to help.

Six Nations Rugby

Six Nations Rugby

Sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland, the Six Nations is one of the premier events in the rugby calendar. As per its name, six nations compete in this prodigious tournament; France, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and England.

In 2015, the opening fixture will be between Wales and England on the 6th of February. England are already firm favourites to win with most bookies, having finished second in 2014’s tournament.

There are many trophies up for grabs during Six Nations. The main trophy to win, and the one which all teams have their eyes on, is the Championship Trophy. Made of sterling silver, in 2014 the Championship Trophy went to Ireland, who won against France in the final match, and then won the whole tournament based on point differences.

England, however, can take solace in being the owners of the Triple Crown, a trophy awarded to the home nation team who beats all the other teams of the home nations (England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales). This made 2014 the first year where the Triple Crown was won by a team other than the winners of the championship title.

England also had Mike Brown crowned as the player of the year, securing over 34% of a public vote and narrowly beating Brian O’Driscoll of the Ireland team.

It was a big shock to many in the Irish press that O’Discoll was not named player of the year, as 2014 will also be his last Six Nations. The Irish star has decided to retire at the end of the 2014 season.

Each one of the six teams have their own stadium for matches, with England home matches, of course, taking place at Twickenham Stadium. Situated in Richmond upon Thames, the underground is sure to be busy during any match game as England fans travel to be at the heart of the excitement. For peace of mind in knowing that your travel arrangements are perfectly coordinated, we recommend using our chauffeur service. We have experience in escorting many clients to the grounds and arranging tickets for the day. There is no better way to celebrate another potentially great year for England than by arriving in style.

Royal Ascot 2014

royal ascotThe Royal Ascot is a great horse racing event, attended by Royalty. Taking place six miles away from Windsor Castle, in the scenic town of Ascot, the five day event takes place during the start of summer.

A key feature of the Royal Ascot are the outfits on display. All attendees are encouraged to wear smart clothes, and those in the prominent audience areas of the Grandstand or Royal Enclosure have to adhere to a strict dress code. The fashion of the Royal Ascot is commented on across British media, making this as much as the race.

As well as the wide range of fashion on display, the royal Ascot is, of course, the horse racing itself. Winners will receive a share of considerable prize money, with a total of over 10 million being able to be won by the racers on the day.

During the day itself, another highlight is the royal procession, arriving on horsedrawn carriages to the racecourse from Windsor Castle itself. After a parade around the racecourse, members of the royal family, including Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, will enter the Royal Box along with other distinguished guests.

Last year, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second also became the first reigning Monarch to own a horse that won the Gold Cup (the main cup of Ladies Day). The horse, Estimate, was trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by jockey Ryan Moore.

This year could be another year in which history takes place. Royal Ascot 2014 takes place between Tuesday 17th of June and Saturday 21st June 2014. It is important to get your tickets early, and to plan your outfit to be a part of the fine tradition of Royal Ascot. Our chauffeurs and office team don’t just assist with travel, but can also help you plan your day and procure the right tickets for you and your family, allowing you to sit back and arrive in style at the most Royal event of the racing calendar.

FA Cup Final

The finals of the FA Cup are true Great British events, with many across the country gathering in their living rooms or local pub to watch the big game. Nothing, however, beats being at Wembley Stadium.

The final this year, for the 133rd season of the tournament, is taking place on the 17th of May, which is a whole week after the Premier League season concludes, meaning the FA Cup will be a stand alone event for the first time in four years.

The FA Cup had 737 entries in 2013, and started on August 17, meaning that the final will be a match that will have been 274 days in the making.

Currently, ticket prices nor sale dates have not been announced for the FA cup final, but we’re keeping an eye out in the office for them. Part of our chauffeur service to you can also be securing your tickets and planning your travel to and from Wembley Stadium in one of our stylish vehicles.

Last year, the final saw the giants Manchester City face off against the underdogs Wigan Athletic. An incredibly tense match was played for over 90 minutes without a goal and then, during stoppage time (the additional time added to an end of a match to account for breaks within the game), Ben Watson of Wigan Athletic scored a daring header goal, allowing Wigan Athletic to win the FA Cup.

Although this win was hailed as one of the greatest events in the FA Cup in recent history, it is fully possible that the next final will also contain another great event to talk about, and there is no better way to enjoy it than by taking advantage of our chauffeur services and booking a stunning car to take you to Wembley Stadium.
