My Fair Bentley - Get me to the church on time
Once owned by Stanley Holloway, who portrayed Alfred P. Doolittle in the film and stageplay "My Fair Lady". This 1954 R Type Bentley is the perfect vehicle to get you to the church on time.
This beautiful Bentley wedding car is in pristine condition, just as when Mr Holloway owned it.
Fittingly, the celebrated actor sang the song "Get me to the church on time" in My Fair Lady. After being bought off Higgins (Rex Harrison) for the sum of £5. Eliza (Audrey Hepburn) is put through many forms of speech training and a public appearance at Ascot Racecourse in Higgins attempt to make Eliza "a lady".
Stanley Holloway was nominated for an Academy Award (Oscar) for his portrayal of Doolittle, only losing out to Peter Ustinov.
My Fair Lady was based on the George Bernard Shaw's play, Pygmalion, which in turn was based on Ovid's tale of Pygmalion.
