Owned by the Cummings family since 1988. Amberley Castle has been transformed into a splendid Country Castle Hotel and Restaurant and has since gained an international reputation. Offering 19 luxurious bedrooms and suites, all with Jacuzzi bathrooms and many with four-poster beds. There are two restaurants available along with lounge areas, a tennis court, croquet lawn, gardens and lakes, 18-hole professional putting course and a unique thatched roof tree house with rope bridge.
Amberley Castle History and Location
Located near the village of Amberley in the South Downs, Amberley Castle is a magnificent historical retreat that offers a truly unique experience. Built in 1103, the castle features a working portcullis and 60 ft curtain walls. The Cummings have designed beautiful landscaped gardens which compliment the medieval architecture to create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.
A Fairy Tale Wedding Venue
The Amberley Castle is also available for weddings, and this picturesque castle makes a fitting and magical wedding venue.
At midnight, the two tonne oak portcullis is lowered, reinforcing the idea, that this is in no respects an ordinary country hotel.
