Shame for Chauffeur
A chauffeur from Croydon was one of two people prosecuted for using illegal disable badges on their cars, reports The Croydon Advertiser. The chauffeur, who does not work for iChauffeur Ltd, was caught parked on a yellow line in Croydon, last August after running in to the bank. He claimed it was the first time he had ever illegally used the badge in the town.
He had bought the fake permit, so that in his job as a chauffeur he could get as close as possible to airport terminal buildings, by parking in disabled bays to pick up his clients.
Magistrates at Croydon Crown Court gave him a conditional discharge for two years and ordered him to pay £556 costs after he pleaded guilty.
