Shame for Chauffeur

Monday, July 31st, 2006

A chauffeur from Croydon was one of two people prosecuted for using illegal disable badges on their cars, reports The Croydon Advertiser. The chauffeur, who does not work for iChauffeur Ltd, was caught parked on a yellow line in Croydon, last August after running in to the bank. He claimed it was the first time he had ever illegally used the badge in the town.

He had bought the fake permit, so that in his job as a chauffeur he could get as close as possible to airport terminal buildings, by parking in disabled bays to pick up his clients.

Magistrates at Croydon Crown Court gave him a conditional discharge for two years and ordered him to pay £556 costs after he pleaded guilty.

Bentley S3 Wedding Car

iChauffeur have today announced a new addition to their chauffeur driven wedding car fleet. A 1964 vintage Bentley S3 finished in two-tone paintwork and believed to the finest example of the S3 Bentley on the road.

A wonderful wedding car

The Bentley S3’s classic stature and formidable presence makes it ideally suited as a wedding car. It has room in the back for large wedding dresses, a comfortable interior and will make any wedding day a memorable experience.

Say I do

1964 was a fascinating year in history, and as befitting a wedding car, The Beatles had their first US no.1 - ‘I want to hold your hand’ in that year and iChauffeur believe that many wedding couples will say ‘I do’ too.

iChauffeur chairman, Andy Senior said: ‘This is a glorious car, a real piece of motoring history. Our existing wedding car service includes the Bentley Arnage and fabulous new Bentley Continental Flying Spur, but many of our customers have asked for a vintage chauffeur driven car for their wedding day. We looked everywhere for a classic Bentley, and are ecstatic about finding the finest example of the S3 around for our wedding car fleet’.

Bentley History

Bentley Motors was founded in 1919 by Walter Owen Bentley, and since then the Bentley Marque has been synonymous with the finest in automotive engineering.

The Queen’s new chauffeur

Buckingham Palace - The Queen’s official residence in London

Russel Town a Western Isle shop keeper had the pleasure of serving as the Queen’s chauffeur for the day. The day had started like any other for the only shopkeeper in Ardminish on the Hebridean island of Gigha. Before Princess Anne walked in and asked if he knew of a village taxi which could take the Queen from Eilean Garbh beach three miles away to the island’s Achamore Gardens.

Mr Town was happy to oblige, and twenty minutes later he found himself collecting the Queen and ferrying her to the local gardens in his Peugeot people carrier.

Mr Town said of his Royal chauffeuring experience: ‘It was just so bizarre. One minute I was serving in the shop and the next I was sitting next to the most famous woman in the world.’ reports the The Daily Mail

The Queen started her royal summer cruise in the Western Isles, and is away from her official residence in Buckingham Palace, London.

The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is home to the department of the Royal Household that provides transport by road for The Queen and other members of the Royal Family. On display is the magnificent Gold State Coach used for Coronations and other carriages used for Royal and State occasions, and a State motor vehicle is also usually on display, and is not normally a Peugeot people carrier, but rather a more sedate Bentley Chauffeur Car

Bentley Chauffeur Car

iChauffeur, London - have introduced a new Bentley to their luxury chauffeur car fleet. The Bentley Continental Flying Spur Chauffeur Car compliments the existing fleet of Bentley Arnage Chauffeur Cars, and adds greater choice for iChauffeur’s clients.

Introducing the Bentley Continental Flying Spur

The Flying Spur is a huge technological step forward over the Arnage. It features a new W12 6 litre Twin Turbo engine, has copious amounts of torque and horsepower. The advanced W format of the engine, creates more cabin and storage space than a more typical V12 engine. This also has benefits in terms of handling and performance.

iChauffeur chairman, Andy Senior commented on the new addition to the family. "We are very excited to introduce this new Bentley to the fleet. The performance of this car is phenomenal, it has permanent all wheel drive, and the most powerful brakes available for any passenger car. The Arnage will continue to be a popular chauffeur car, in particular for weddings, but the Flying Spur is in our opinion the safest chauffeur car in the world, our customers demand the best and this new Continental is in my opinion, the very finest - that is until the new Arnage is introduced next year."

Bentley Luxury

The Bentley may feature many new advancements over any previous model, like a four-way climate control system and monitoring. But it would not be a Bentley Interior without their infamous traditional coach building craftsmanship. The finest hide, wool and wood veneer are expertly combined to create the legendary Bentley experience.

Driving the Bentley

Bentley have always had a firm footing in motor sport. The Flying Spur can out drag most supercars to 60 mph, reaching this yardstick in a breathtaking 4.9 seconds and on inter-continental journeys it can stretch it’s legs to 196mph on the autobahn. This performance should never be taken lightly, and iChauffeur work closely with Bentley to make sure that their chauffeurs are properly prepared to drive them. "Our Bentley chauffeurs take driver awareness, skid pan, security and handling training at Mallory Park. This is given by Bentley themselves, who are the experts and which helps us better understand the characteristics of their vehicles, which in turn helps us provide our clients the safest and most comfortable chauffeur driven journeys." Andy Senior commented.
