Henley and Wimbledon Splash

Henley Royal Regatta

Nice weather for ducks

Wimbledon, SW19. The All England Club Tennis Championships started in Great British style this morning. The scheduled start of play was delayed by half an hour on Monday following rain showers. Play had been due to start at 1100 GMT on the outside courts but tournament referee Andrew Jarrett announced a delay following a morning of rainfall in southwest London. Monday’s weather forecast is for rain to continue into the afternoon with some brighter spells later in the day.

Reigning (or should that be raining?) Wimbledon Champion Roger Federer is due to open his title defence against France’s Richard Gasquet today.

Sunshine for Henley

Henley Royal Regatta splashes down on the 28th of June till the 2nd July 2006 and the current forecast foretells a bright and sunny Regatta, perfect for Pimms, Champagne and like Wimbledon – strawberries and cream. Enjoy.
