The Glyndebourne 2011 Festival opened on the 21st May with a new production of Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg. This season will include productions of Rinaldo, Don Giovanni, L’elisir d’amore, Rusalka and The Turn of the Screw.

For over 75 years, Glyndebourne has created a unique and world class operatic festival but all the while not losing the essence of what has become a quintessential English summer event. Founded in 1934 by John Christie and his opera singer wife, Audrey Mildmay, Glyndebourne has become a celebrated operatic venue. The fact that founder John Christie’s grandson Gus runs Glyndebourne speaks volumes.

Glyndebourne Festival Opera 2009

21st May to 31st August 2009

2009 marks the 75th anniversary of the Glyndebourne Festival, which began in 1934 at the Glyndebourne Opera House in East Sussex. This special season at Glyndebourne will see productions of The Fairy Queen, Giulio Cesare, Rusalka, Falstaff, Tristan und Isolde and L’elisir d’amore.

Glyndebourne Festival Opera 2008

Glyndebourne Opera House in East Sussex will once more be hosting some very special Opera performances this year.

The 2008 Glyndebourne Festival includes performances of L’incoronazione di Poppea, Eugene Onegin, Albert Herring, Carmen and Hänsel und Gretel.

Glyndebourne is a wonderful location to enjoy Opera music. We even have a chauffeur who has performed there on many occasions.

Michael used to be the principal chair of the London Symphony Orchestra before he gave up the music industry to concentrate on his love of travel.
