The Cheltenham Festival and Gold Cup is the most prestigious meeting in the National Hunt calendar. The highlight of the Festival is the Cheltenham Gold Cup, a Grade 1 National Hunt chase, open to horses which are five-years-old or above.

The 2010 Cheltenham Festival will have an Irish flavour on Wednesday Patrick’s Day coincides with The Festival. Share the luck of the Irish and join in the craic, with Irish bands, the Guinness Village and even official Cheltenham shamrock on sale!

Glorious Goodwood is widely regarded as the grand finale of the summer season. A wonderful mix of garden party, glamour and of course the gee-gees. The racing starts on Tuesday, 28th July 2009 with the "Paul Goes the Extra Mile" race concluding on Saturday, August 1 with the Apprentice Stakes.

Described as the most beautiful racecourse in Britain, against the backdrop of the rolling Sussex Downs help set apart Goodwood from many other racecourses. Created by the third Duke of Richmond in 1801, Goodwood has become a firm favourite of the racing fraternity.

The Total Prize Money for the 2009 Cheltenham Festival is £3.67m, an average of £141,000 for each Festival race.

The Festival Trials will be held this Saturday, the 24th January, and the Festival will be held between Tuesday 10th and Friday 13th March 2009. The highlight of the Festival is the Cheltenham Gold Cup, a Grade 1 National Hunt chase, open to horses which are five-years-old or above. In 2009 the Gold Cup is sure to be lucky for somebody on Friday, the 13th March.
