2009 marks the 75th anniversary of the Glyndebourne Festival, which began in 1934 at the Glyndebourne Opera House in East Sussex. This special season at Glyndebourne will see productions of The Fairy Queen, Giulio Cesare, Rusalka, Falstaff, Tristan und Isolde and L’elisir d’amore.

The Royal Hospital Chelsea will be once again be aglow with colour and fragrance from the world’s finest collection of flowers. Setting trends for garden designs this is the ultimate event in the gardening calendar. The regular flower show is preceded by a Charity Gala Preview on Monday 18 May, the proceeds from which are supporting the RHS Campaign for School Gardening.
