Farnborough Airport was the location of the UK’s first controlled flight by Samuel Cody in 1908. 100 years later, on the centenary of UK air travel, Farnborough will host it’s 48th International Air show, the first being held 60 years ago in 1948.

With 140 000 trade visitors and 1480 exhibitors from 32 countries. Farnborough International Airshow is a huge event. Originally an annual event, in 1962 it changed to its present biennial format. Open to trade visitors, apart from the last 2 days when the general public are admitted.

The 45th Farnborough International Airshow will take off from Farnborough Airport, Hampshire next week.

Drawing aviation enthusiasts, families and the aerospace industry, the 2006 Air Show looks like being a very special event.

Public Visitors are welcome to the show on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd July 2006. Gates open at 09.30am
