Lord March has seen his garden party grow since it’s inaugural event in 1993. It has since become one of the highlights of the motorsport and social calendar and is now known as the "Garden party of the gods" Lord March has been driven to bring back motorsport to Goodwood and the Festival of Speed as well as the Goodwood Revival which celebrate the golden years of motorsport have both become world class events drawing the world’s finest drivers and the most beautiful racing cars and bikes that have ever graced a motor circuit.
The 2009 Festival of Speed will once again be held on the Goodwood Estate in Chichester, West Sussex and has attracted some of the all time greats of motorsport as well as the cream of the current motorsport scene. Drivers like current world champion Lewis Hamilton will be lighting up his McLaren and Mercedes cars, while fellow Briton and this years F1 championship leader Jenson Button will drive another Mercedes-Benz, the W154 on the hill climb racing against Mark Webber in his Red Bull F1 machine.
Lord March seems to attract the all time greats of motor racing to his events, and this year ex Formula 1 stars, Jackie Stewart, Damon Hill, David Coulthard, Alan McNish, Jackie Oliver, Jochen Mass, Johnny Herbert, Jacky Ickx, Derek Bell, Martin Donnelly, Eddie Irvine, Alan Jones, Jacques Lafitte and Ricardo Patresse will be joined by Le Mans winners, rally drivers and celebrities like Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and chef James Martin alongside some celebrated bike racers.
