The Royal Automobile Club’s annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run (LBVCR) is the world’s longest running motoring event. With up to 500 pre 1905 veteran cars attempting to travel the 60 mile run from Hyde Park in central London to the seafront on the Sussex resort of Brighton.
The event is held on the first Sunday in November in celebration of the fact that motorists are no longer required by law to have a man carrying a red flag walking in front of their vehicle!
The official route takes in the suburbs of London via Brixton, Lambeth and Streatham on the A23 and on through Norbury to Croydon and then the A235 to Purley reverting to the A23 to Redhill, Horley, Gatwick and Crawley plus the towns and villages on route to Brighton via Cuckfield and Burgess Hill.

The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run Concours which takes place on Saturday the 4th of November in Regent Street, London. Showing 100 of the finest examples of these Veteran cars which can be viewed close up and is FREE of charge to the visiting public.
