British Grand Prix
2006 British Grand Prix
The Formula 1 roadshow rolls into Silverstone again in June. For three days the Northamptonshire countryside will echo with the sound of screaming F1 engines, helicopters and a most passionate crowd.
Motor racing has always been something that the British have been particularly good at. Most of the teams are actually based in Britain and the UK has produced some of the sport’s greatest innovators, people like Colin Chapman, Adrian Newey, Frank Williams and Bernie Eccelstone. Britain has also spawned some of the sport’s great drivers over the years too - Stirling Moss, Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill, James Hunt and Nigel Mansell all have helped inspire the latest generation of drivers such as Jenson Button.
