You know that the English summer is in full swing, with the first crack of tennis balls at Wimbledon and shortly after the Pimms starts flowing at Henley.
Henley Royal Regatta is a annual rowing and social event held every year since 1839 on the River Thames in Henley-on-Thames, England. A truly Great British Event, the Henley Regatta owes it’s Royal Patronage to Prince Albert who in 1851 became the Regatta’s first Royal Patron. Since his death, the reigning Monarch has always consented to become Patron of the regatta. As a result the event is called the Henley Royal Regatta.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2009

The Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, the largest flower show in the world will burst into life on the 7th of July 2009. Set in the regal setting of Surrey is a very special event in the gardening and flower show calendar.
This years show promises to get down to earth and show and inspire you to get more from your garden. This year marks the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII’s accession to the throne. To celebrate this, the Royal Horticultural Society has made the Tudor period a key theme. Other features include; Garden Energy - an interactive feature garden exploring the scope of sustainable practices within different environments, Growing Tastes - which will take visitors from plot to plate and the Fiji Long Water Feature.

2009 Cricket Matches at Lord’s
2009 will be another classic year of cricket at Lord’s. On the Lord’s Fixtures calendar we have the ICC World Twenty20, England v Australia, part of the npower Ashes Series alongside one-day internationals against the Australians. Lord’s will also see Middlesex’s defence of the Twenty20 Cup plus their County Championship and Pro40 matches.

2009 Formula 1 British Grand Prix
Friday 19 – Sunday 21 June 2009
Location: Silverstone
Northamptonshire’s Silverstone circuit will light up when the Formula One circus rolls into action on Friday 19th June 2009. After last years spectacular where Lewis Hamilton provided the ecstatic home crowd with a master-class in wet weather driving, 2009 will be marked as the last at Silverstone as the event prepares to move to Donington Park. The knowledgeable British fans will probably be cheering loudest this year for Jenson Button as he steers his Brawn GP machine towards his goal of the 2009 Formula One drivers championship.
