Cliveden

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

Cliveden since 1666 has been one of the places to stay in Britain. Previous guests included everyone from Charlie Chaplin to Winston Churchill, and President Roosevelt to George Bernard Shaw. It has been a firm favourite with Royalty and it’s close proximity to London, Heathrow and Windsor makes it a welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of London.

When Stephen Ward and Christine Keeler were staying in Spring Cottage at Cliveden, they triggered the infamous Profumo scandal.

Cliveden can also be hired as a wedding venue.
