Hedsor House

Hedsor House is a Georgian style mansion in the village of Hedsor near Taplow, Buckinghamshire. The ancient seat of the de Hedsor family who owned it at the time of the Domesday Book in 1086.

In 1583 Rowland Hynd built a new Tudor Manor House which was badly damaged by fire in 1795 and eventually demolished in 1865. Then architect James Knowles was commissioned by the fourth Lord Boston to design a new manor house. Completed in 1868 and styled in the Italian Villa manner. Both King George III and Queen Victoria were frequent visitors to this mansion.

The house is at the end of a kilometre long private drive. Set in 85 acres of land, with several acres adjacent to the house available for the erection of marquees. The surrounding park is Grade II listed on the English Heritage register.

Today, Hedsor House is used for filming, conferences, events and also as a magnificent wedding venue.

The Compleat Angler

The Macdonald Compleat Angler is superbly located overlooking the Thames in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Kensington Roof Gardens

Kensington Roof Gardens is an urban oasis in the heart of London. One and a half acres of themed gardens over 100 feet in the air offering spectacular views of the West London’s skyline.

Owned by Sir Richard Branson the Roof Gardens has a restaurant and night club and is available to hire for private and business functions as well as weddings. The Grade II listed gardens surround a two storey clubhouse which hosts the private events and the private members club which caters for up to 600 guests on Friday and Saturday nights.

The gardens were designed and built by Ralph Hancock between 1936 and 1938 and are divided into three themed gardens:

  • The Spanish garden, in the Moorish style and based upon the Alhambra in Spain, featuring fountains, vine-covered walkways and palms
  • The Tudor garden, with archways, secret corners and hanging wisteria
  • The English woodland garden, with over 100 species of trees, a stream, and a pond which is home to pintail ducks and two Chilean pink flamingos.

The Roof Gardens are listed as no.21 in the top 50 wedding venues by the Independent.

Blenheim Palace

It doesn’t get much more British than this: Blenheim Palace, the birthplace and ancestral home of Winston Churchill. Set in Woodstock in Oxfordshire, Blenheim Palace is a magnificent country house, and the only non-episcopal country house in England to hold the title “palace”.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site - Blenheim Palace is set in 2100 acres of beautiful parkland landscaped by the legendary Capability Brown. The palace was originally intended to be a gift to the 1st Duke of Marlborough as a reward for his military triumph against the French and Bavarians. It was built between 1705 and 1722 and it makes a fantastic location to visit.

The Dorchester

One of London’s and the world’s most celebrated hotels, The Dorchester is located in the heart of Mayfair on Park Lane, overlooking Hyde Park. Within walking distance are the luxury shopping areas of Knightsbridge, Bond Street and London’s famous theatre district.

The Dorchester Hotel opened on 18 April 1931. It was created by Sir Malcolm McAlpine and Sir Frances Towle. During the Second World War, because of it’s modern construction, it gained a reputation as a safe place to stay. Since then, The Dorchester has seen numerous famous guests including:
Winston Churchill, General Dwight D. Eisenhower, Julie Andrews, Kim Basinger, Warren Beatty, Yul Brynner, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, Tom Cruise, Judy Garland, Johnny Depp, Dame Edna Everage, Charlton Heston, Nicole Kidman, James Mason and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Peter Sellers and Kenneth Horne both died while staying at this Mayfair hotel.
