Internet Bookings for Limousines in London

Booking a Limousine from Abroad

Booking a limousine from another country can be quite daunting. Will the Limousine show up at the Airport? Will the limousine be the one that I ordered? How will I recognize the Chauffeur? There are so may aspects to be concerned about, and unless you have used a chauffeur company before or have been recommended by someone you know, it can be a gamble. At iChauffeur we recognize this and always send our customers booking confirmation for any chauffeur service that is carried out here in the UK. This is usually done by e-mail, but we can also fax over confirmation. We will let you know through this confirmation where our chauffeurs will meet you and what sign you should look for on a name board. If you have booked a particular limousine, then rest assure that we have allocated that limousine and Chauffeur to your booking. If we cannot supply a service we will let you know in advance.

Will my Chauffeur turn up?

Firstly, we stay clear of giving too much work out on a daily basis to our chauffeurs. This means that each job that is allocated is given plenty of time in case of bad traffic, delayed flights or accidents. In an emergency our chauffeurs will call our control centre well in advance so that we can re-allocate a replacement limousine immediately.

Monitoring Flights

Our control centre here at iChauffeur monitor all inbound and outbound flights for pick up or drop off. That means if a flight is delayed or it arrives early we know about it, and act on it, so you are never kept waiting. We offer the first half an hour of waiting time for free, and if your flight is delayed further then your chauffeur will wait for you until you come through arrivals - Service is our mantra.

Limousine Choices

The Bentley

Some might say the Bentley is the best Limo in the world, but which Bentley? The Bentley Azure, Arnage, Flying Spur and Continental T are all classics in their own way. Certainly the Bentley Arnage is linked heavily with the chauffeur industry. It is symbolic and unique and has lappings of class but so does the Rolls-Royce Phantom. The only difference in public opinion is that I know people who hate the Phantom with a vengeance. This cannot be said about the Arnage - Or can it?

Bentley History

Bentley was founded by Walter Owen Bentley, known to all as "W.O." Walter was a keen motor cyclist and raced successfully with his brother until he began to import French sports cars. His aim was "to make a fast car, a good car: the best in its class..." In the '20s, with the 3-litre, 85bhp engine providing speeds of 80 mph and more, Bentley Motors set numerous speed and endurance records and became inextricably linked with the history of the famous 24 hour race at Le Mans. Bentley was then faced with financial problems and this was when it linked up with Rolls-Royce and a new era began.

Limousines

What is a Limousine?

The literal meaning for a limousine is "a cloak." In France, "Limousine" means any passenger vehicle. Earlier on dictionarys defined "limousine" as an automobile with a permanently enclosed compartment for 3-5 people, with a roof projecting over the front driver's seat. In London we now define a Limousine as a long white stretch vehicle synominous with celebritys and young crazed party animals. In the US, the word "limousine" does not carry the same connotation as it does here in the UK. A limousine is seen as any large executive car over there.

Is this the end of the stretch?

Many people in the UK now see the classic stretch limousine as 'Tacky'. Does this mean that the stretch Limousine has had its day? I think there will always be a desire for young people to travel together in large numbers or packs, and in their minds they are traveling in style. The professional in his or her thirties who is looking for a glamorous way to travel to Ascot wouldn't be seen dead in a stretch, and would be looking for perhaps a Bentley or an S-Class Mercedes. The Limousine as we know it will certainly survive, but slowly I think that the more stylish saloons will be the way forward for the more forward thinking person.
